Ads for correspondence schools were a
common feature of old magazines, if not comic books. All the majors listed here
were authentic majors available from various four year universities at the time
this ad parody was written.
“M. Howard, L. Fine & C.J.
Derita” were the names of a late line-up of The Three Stooges; Moe Howard, Larry
Fine & Curly Joe DeRita.
J. Bergoglio – Jorge Bergoglio was
the real name of Pope Francis, the current Pontiff at
the time of writing.
